Compassionate Body-Mind Training
-
Is it hard to care for yourself when you are struggling?
-
Is it hard to reach out to others?
-
Do you often feel overwhelmed by strong emotions such as anxiety, anger or shame?
-
Do you tend to underestimate your ability to cope?
We have created an 8 week course that follows the brilliant 8 week Compassionate Mind Training developed by Dr Chris Irons and Dr Charlie Heriot-Maitland (2020). Our version incorporates movement and body-based practices to further understand key themes

What?
We bring wisdom drawn from Yoga Therapy and Compassion Focused Therapy together to develop our compassionate body and mind course because our life is stored in our body, not just our mind.
This course is based on the work of Professor Paul Gilbert's Compassion Focused Therapy.

The course has been evaluated by Irons and Heriot-Maitland (2020) in the paper Compassionate Mind Training: An 8-week group for the general public.

Why?
Research shows that practicing compassion leads to:
-
Higher levels of resilience
-
Higher levels wellbeing
-
Lower levels of self criticism and shame

We are creating more flexibility and compassion to move back towards connection when life inevitably takes us to disconnection.
